Title: "Mind-Immune Connection in Cognition and Mood"
Abstract: Mind-immune connection plays important role in brain development and in modulation of mood and cognition. My group focuses on studying the mechanisms of immune activation in regulating brain and behaviors in patients with mental disorders and in related animal models, in order to better understand contribution mind-immune connection to stress-associated brain diseases. The seminar will introduce current basic knowledge on how the brain interacts with the immune system to adjust behaviors and microglial activation under stress. The value of animal models of stress-immune interactions will be critically discussed, with an emphasis on translating these preclinical findings into human disease and therapies.
