The 23rd International Gene Forum 2024 is taking place in Tartu on September 24-25

The Institute of Genomics of the University of Tartu and the Estonian Genome Foundation cordially invite you to The 23rd International Gene Forum 2024 on September 24th – 25th, 2024 at the Estonian National Museum.

We are delighted to invite you to the European Capital of Culture Tartu for an annual international high-level scientific conference on genetics and genomics, a major event in the Baltics, which provides an excellent opportunity to establish and renew contacts in the region.

Due to its interdisciplinary scope, Gene Forum 2024 brings together distinguished experts from Europe, Australia, and the USA for discussion on the progress in the field. Our program committee has arranged an agenda featuring insightful talks that delve into a range of pertinent subjects, such as the implementation of personalized medicine in clinical practice, genomics based clinical trials, pharmacogenomics, psychiatric genomics, functional genomics, microbiome and evolutionary genomics.

The keynote speaker of the Gene Forum is Stephen Kingsmore, President and CEO of Rady Children's Institute for Genomic Medicine.

Dr. Stephen F. Kingsmore is President/CEO of Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine where he leads a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, physicians and researchers who are pioneering the use of rapid Whole Genome Sequencing to enable precise diagnose for critically-ill newborns. Among his achievements, Dr. Kingsmore holds the Guinness World Record for achieving the fastest molecular diagnosis using whole genome sequencing in just 19.5 hours.

The main sponsors of the event are international biotechnology companies Illumina ja PacBio.
