I module Folkloristics

lead by Assoc Prof Merili Metsvahi & Prof Art Leete, University of Tartu, Estonia

• principles of academic studies in folkloristics & neighbouring disciplines

• building blocks of identity

• how to preserve oral history

• archives, museums, ways to popularize folklore & heritage

II module Ethnobotany

lead by Senior Researcher Raivo Kalle, Estonian Literary Museum and Assoc Prof Renata Sõukand, Ca'Foscari University, Italy

• importance of local biodiversity & heritage

• finding local ethnobotanical narratives

• traditional ecological knowledge

• main methods of ethnobotany

III module Archaeogenetics

lead by Prof Kristiina Tambets, Assoc Professor Mari Tõrv, Assoc Professor Alena Kushniarevich, Research Fellow Lehti Saag and Junior Researcher Kadri Irdt all from the University of Tartu, Estonia

• learn basic principles of archaeogenetics

• acquire skills to critically evaluate & analyze published studies

• know main methods, scope and limitations

15.07 – 18.08 LINGUSITICS & CONFERENCE

IV module Linguistics

lead by Assoc Prof George Saad, Palacky University, Olomouc, Czechia & Dr Hanna Fricke, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands

• practical curation and formatting of linguistic datasets

• linguistic databases

• practical academic writing skills

END CONFERENCE – presentation of ongoing projects, guest lectures.
