At the end of last year and the beginning of this one, the University of Tartu hosted a delegation of grant advisors, project managers and financial managers from the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). The study visit was organised by the UT Grant Office within the framework of the European Commission–funded BRIDGE project, which aims to strengthen the resilience and capacity of Ukrainian research institution KSE.

All full-time students of the University of Tartu, the University of Latvia and Vilnius University may apply for the 2,000-euro scholarship if their proficiency in one of the Baltic countries’ languages is at least at C1 level and in the other two languages at least at A2 level. Visiting international students who study at one of the three universities in both semesters of this academic year may also apply.

On November 3 at 10:30, Dr Aleksi Tornio (MD, PhD) from the University of Turku, Finland, will give a guest seminar at the University of Tartu.

On 7 October, members of the Committee on Education of the Swedish parliament (Riksdag), accompanied by the Swedish Ambassador Charlotte Wrangberg and the Swedish Honorary Consul Madis Kanarbik, visited the University of Tartu.

A recent overview published by the Estonian Research Council (ETAG) reveals that Estonia has performed exceptionally well in the European Union’s framework programme for research and innovation, Horizon Europe (2021–2027). Among Estonian institutions, the University of Tartu has been the most successful participant in the programme, receiving almost €90 million in funding.

The Genome of Europe (GoE) has launched a public awareness survey across five European countries (Estonia, France, Greece, Portugal and Slovenia) to assess citizens' understanding and attitudes towards genetics and genomics-based personalized medicine. The survey is part of a wider scientific and societal effort to ensure that all Europeans can benefit from the promises of modern genomic medicine.

On 6 May, the Rector’s Office met with the rector and representatives of the University of Latvia, who also visited Delta Centre and the Estonian Biobank.

The planned visit of the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on 13 March to the University of Tartu and the president's public lecture will not take place.

On 26 February, the University of Tartu was visited by representatives of its long-standing cooperation partner, the University of Greifswald.

On 15 January, the President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu visited the University of Tartu and met Rector Toomas Asser.
